Shilajit is a resin that seeps from Himalayan rock over centuries. In Ayurveda it is classed as a yogavahi — a carrier that improves how other herbs work.
Traditional use
It is taken for sustained energy, stamina and mineral support, usually in very small daily quantities.
The purity problem
Because genuine resin is scarce, the market is full of blends bulked out with clay, ash or humic filler. Look for declared fulvic acid content, heavy-metal test reports and batch-level traceability. If a label offers none of these, treat the price as the only honest information on the pack.
How to take it
A rice-grain quantity of resin, or a single standardised caplet, dissolved in warm water or milk once a day. More is not better.
